Hi everyone, Please keep these things in mind over the next days and weeks:
Sunday morning prayer time meets in the church parlor at about 8:45 and finishes up in plenty of time for worship at 10:00 Come and go as you need to and spend time praying for our church and it’s ministries. Pastor Kevin’s series from “The Story” continues on Moses and Exodus. As always we have great singing and a time to share our praises and prayer needs. Kids Connection is in place with dedicated volunteers. Coffee time follows in Veno Hall. Thank you to everyone who has stepped forward to help out with this during the summer months. Please note that there will be NO coffee time next Sunday, Labor Day weekend. Regular coffee time will resume on September 11th.
Sunday evening at 6:00 is the next Meetinghouse Concert. The featured group is “The Lesters” – one of our favorites and I believe one of the original Southern Gospel groups we first met years ago. Tickets are available at the door.at Victory Church in Sharon on Route 27. A great way to end your weekend!
As mentioned before, this coming week is Church Clean-up week. There is a sign-up sheet on the snack table in Veno Hall where you can indicate what days/times will be best for you to help out. There will be a table in the Welcome Center with cleaning supplies and a list of suggested tasks that need to be done. Please “check off” any job you complete. This is a huge church and it is an equally daunting task to keep everything clean and neat. Scott spends many hours here each week and your help will be greatly appreciated!
Wednesday evening at 6:00pm Open Door meeting for all volunteers.
Also on Wednesday evening at 6:45 Kid’s Connection Team meeting.
Don’t forget to fill up the display in the Welcome Center with items for the triplets! Diapers, onesies, wipes are all needed! And we won’t turn away any other baby items that you contribute. Thank you!
Back to Church Sunday is coming fast! Sunday, September 18th will feature another inspiring presentation by the ladies of Teen Challenge during worship followed by a potluck meal in Veno Hall. Remember that each one of you has an important part to play as this special Sunday approaches.
You have already been asked to think about the people – young and old that you are going to invite (its not to late to start thinking!) This Sunday you will be asked to write down the names of those you are going to invite so that we can all begin to pray for those folks.
United Church of Norwood has a long legacy of transforming lives with the Gospel. To continue that legacy, we as a community need to share God’s good news with our neighbors, friends, coworkers, and families.
Thank you to Rick Dobo who spent a few hours this week trimming all of the bushes that overhang the fence near the parking lot! Great job!
We still need a creative, “go-to” person to step up and help out with the Back to Church Sunday bulletin board we want to put up in the Welcome Center. We have people willing to help but we need one person to take this on. This needs to be done by a week from Sunday. Are you the one who will do this?
